Fleece that redefines fleece.

I just wanted dive a bit deeper into the fleece fabric that we will use in our ongoing fleece project.

As mentioned earlier fleece came about in the late 1970 as a pursuit to find a preforming compliment to wool. It quickly became the go to material for mid-layers and one of the most beloved products for us outdoor enthusiasts.

The fleece fabrics superior performance when it comes to warmth, quick drying properties and durability have all made it a must for any outdoor activity.

But....

the drawback with fleece fabrics is the shedding of microfibres and this has never really been dealt with before.

What Polartec now have done is to really reinvent how to produce a fleece fabric. Keeping all those really great performance qualities of a normal fleece fabric but at the same time reducing the shedding of microfibres up to 80% compare to any other premium fleece fabric out there.

Up to 80% less microfibres.

By layering the fibers in-between two layers the fibers gets trapped and prevents microfibres from shedding. This unique construction also creates a grid of pillows that helps trapping air, the air the will keep you warm.

T-shirt brief
The development of our second product, the t-shirt, is in full swing. A couple of days ago we blogged about
Outstanding production. A part of the design philosophy is that a product is not designed until it has been produced.
Producing textile products is quite complex, especially when working with technical and functional materials, as often used in the outdoors.

It’s quite hard to get one of these stringent sustainability certifications, like Bluesign, the commitment and the effort required by the company to be certified are massive.
You can make an impact on the environment and society by purchasing products with sustainability certification labels… it’s always good to remember this.
Simply, choose and take action!
